I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor trained in Person Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt and an Individual Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am currently studying CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to incorporate into my counselling practice in the near future.
I currently work within the NHS, and in addition work as a counsellor from Penn Hill Surgery in Yeovil. I am looking forward to setting up in private pratice in the Weymouth area this year. I facilitate Inner Child Therapy Groups at Furzedown Farm (Weymouth) and at The Breathing Space (Dorchester).
I work with adults and young persons, and see all of my clients as individuals who bring a variety of topics with them. I believe that all clients have the capacity to change, heal and reach their full potential. My role is to listen and offer a non-judgemental safe space where we can explore the blocks that may be in the way.
I am a member of the Creative Counsellors Club and I like to work in a creative way. I feel creativity is a great way to get people working in a way they have often left behind, it opens them up to looking at areas of their life they might find difficult to look at with just talking therapy.
I am lucky enough to live by both the sea and the countryside and spend time outside walking on the beach or cycling through local areas of beauty taking it all in, being in the moment and embodying a mindful approach to life. I often beach comb and use my findings such as beach glass in my crafts, as well as in my counselling room for creative work.
